Yelkouan Shearwater (Levantine Shearwater) Puffinus yelkouan

This species and Balearic Shearwater Puffinus mauretanicus were formerly lumped as one species, Mediterranean Shearwater. Though fair numbers of Balearic Shearwaters occur off UK shores every year, there has yet to be an accepted record of Yelkouan Shearwater. There have been quite a few recent claims though and it is now looking like this species does occur in British waters regularly, albeit in very small numbers.
