American Purple Gallinule (Purple Gallinule) Porphyrio martinica

An extremely rare vagrant to Europe from North America. Any birds arriving on this side of the Atlantic are likely to be in immature plumage but for now I can only offer you photos of adult birds.

Not to be confused with the much larger European species often known as Purple Gallinule but now increasingly called Purple Swamphen.
