Black-eared Kite Milvus (migrans) lineatus

The Asian form of Black Kite is often now regarded as a different species, Black-eared Kite Milvus lineatus, although many authorities still treat it as a race of Black Kite Milvus migrans.

The first record for Britain involved a juvenile bird which arrived in Lincolnshire in early November 2006. Apart from a brief excursion to North Norfolk, it ended up spending the whole winter in the marshes surrounding the Wash, moving from Lincolnshire into Norfolk by December.

Sadly in all the time it was available I never managed to get an acceptable photo, but here's the best of the unacceptable ones:
