African Spoonbill Platalea alba

This species is kept in captivity and escapes are occasionally found in the UK, one of which spent some time in Norfolk recently. However what are thought to be genuine vagrants reach southern Europe occasionally and there is a remote possibility of a wild bird reaching British shores under its own steam. One in Italy has bred successfully with Sacred Ibises producing hybrid offspring. The following photos are taken in its native range:
